What We Believe

  1. We believe the Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God in all matters of faith and conduct. (Deuteronomy 4:2; Psalm 19:7-9; John 16:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Galatians 1:8-9; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; Revelation 22:18-19)
  2. We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1-3; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 44:6-8; Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 12:29; Luke 3:22; John 1:1-4; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
  3. We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit; perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of each person, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all that come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 21:33; Isaiah 40:28; Exodus 33:14; John 4:24; Revelation 4:8; Romans 11:33-34; Jeremiah 32:17; Ephesians 1:19-20; Jeremiah 31:3; Romans 5:8; 2 Samuel 24:14; 1 John 5:14-15)
  4. We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, rose from the grave, and ascended to Heaven where He intercedes for us. (John 1:1-2,14,18; John 3:16; Luke 1:34-35; Luke 24:27; Hebrews 4:15; Romans 3:23-26; Romans 8:34; Mark 8:38; Matthew 24:30; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
  5. We believe that everyone is born with a sinful nature, separated from God and in need of salvation. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for salvation through the repentance from sin and the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. (John 3:5-8; John 5:24; Ephesians 1:6-7; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:23; Acts 2:21) The believer is sanctified at a definite time and as an ongoing process.
  6. We believe in water baptism and in the Holy Spirit baptism (being filled with the Holy Spirit). (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 8:12,36; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; Ephesians 5:18)
  7. We believe that baptism in the Holy Spirit (Pentecost) is obtainable by faith and evidences include power to witness, manifestations of various spiritual gifts including speaking in tongues, and power to live for God. (Luke11:13; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:5-8; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 8:17; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
  8. We believe in divine healing through Jesus Christ. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:14-18; James 5:14-16; Exodus 15:26)
  9. We believe in the imminent, personal, pre-millennial second coming of Jesus Christ who will take the church (believers) with Him to heaven. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Titus 2:13; 2 Peter 3:10-14; Matthew 24:29-44; 2 Timothy 4:8)
  10. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation. (Luke 16:19-26; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:11-15)
  11. We believe the primary agency for the work of God’s kingdom is the local Christian church, functioning under the sovereignty of our Lord Jesus Christ. The church has been entrusted with the ordinances of Believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Acts 2:42-47; Acts 16:4-5; Matthew 16:18; Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 1 Corinthians 12:13)
  12. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:42-47; Romans 15:5-6; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 4:3-6)
